“Tawhid al-Mutlaq – The Absolute Oneness of Allah explained through Lordship, Worship, and Divine Attributes.” |
👑 Tawhid al-Mutlaq (The Absolute Oneness): The Apex of Unity Where All Doubt Perishes!
Introduction: The Testament That is the Foundation of Life
Tawhid is not merely a theological doctrine or the recitation of a few phrases. It is the Fundamental Reality of Existence upon which all creation rests. It is the ultimate truth that binds the entire cosmos into a single chain, eradicates all divergences, and connects humanity to its greatest power: Allah, The One and Only.
To confine Tawhid to the simple concept of "believing in one God" is to diminish its grandeur. Tawhid, in fact, is the name given to being completely immersed in the Oneness of the Lord; it is the certain conviction that the starting point, the peak, and the end point of life all revolve around that Single Divine Being.
Chapter I: The Witness of Lordship — The Cosmos (Tawhid al-Rububiyyah)
The first chapter of Tawhid is Tawhid al-Rububiyyah (The Oneness of Allah in His Lordship, Creation, and Dominion).
As far as the eye can see, there is the operation of a single Hand of Power. Reflect upon it:
The Sun's Ascent and Descent: Has any other sun ever dared to enter the solar system by its own will? Has any other power diverted the course of the winds?
The Journey of the Clouds: Who lifted the water from the ocean, carried it thousands of miles away to rain upon the mountains, and then brought it forth as fresh springs across the land? Is there any partner in this sublime system?
The Human Existence: From a humble particle of clay to the being possessing the most complex consciousness and emotion—whose creation is this?
Tawhid al-Rububiyyah is the declaration that His is the Kingdom, His is the Command, and every atom of the universe is subservient to Him alone. No other entity can create, decree death, or interfere with the order of the cosmos. This universe stands as an unwavering proof that "He is Sufficient, Alone."
The Quranic Insight: "Had there been in the heavens and the earth gods besides Allah, they both would have been corrupted." (Al-Anbya: 22)
Chapter II: The Sovereignty of Worship — The Dominion of the Heart (Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah)
Accepting Tawhid al-Rububiyyah is not enough; the true Tawhid is Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah (The Oneness of Allah in Worship).
This is the point where man subjects his personal will, desire, and fear to one single Power. Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah means:
Oneness in Intention: That my every endeavor, every struggle, and every deed is purely for the pleasure of Allah, and not for recognition, fame, or worldly gain.
Oneness in Love: That the center of my love is only the Being of Allah, and all other loves (parents, children, wealth) are subordinate to His love.
Oneness in Seeking Aid: That when any difficulty arises, the conviction remains: neither a saint, nor an angel, but only "Iyyaka na'budu wa iyyaka nasta'een" (You Alone we worship and You Alone we ask for help).
Oneness in Fear: That my fear is not of any man, ruler, or accident, but solely of that One Being who is All-Powerful.
The heart in which Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah settles is liberated from the doors of creation and attains the wealth of Fearlessness (Istighnā) and Contentment. This is the ultimate stage where the servant declares: "My aim is neither Paradise nor Hell, but only the seeking of Your Pleasure."
Chapter III: The Perfection of Attributes — Incomparable Unity (Tawhid al-Asma wa al-Sifat)
The third and most subtle form of Tawhid is Tawhid al-Asma wa al-Sifat (The Oneness of Allah in His Names and Attributes).
This signifies that the Attributes of Allah (Knowledge, Power, Hearing, Seeing, Mercy, Life) are such that they have no analogy, no parallel, and they do not resemble the attributes of creation.
Al-'Aleem (The All-Knowing): If creation possesses limited knowledge, Allah's Knowledge encompasses everything from eternity to eternity; before His Knowledge, ours is sheer ignorance.
Al-Qadeer (The All-Powerful): If creation possesses limited strength, Allah is absolutely Capable over everything; He merely commands Kun (Be), and it is.
As-Samee' and Al-Baseer (The All-Hearing, The All-Seeing): He hears and sees everything, and there is no limit to His Hearing and Sight.
Tawhid al-Asma wa al-Sifat teaches us not to weigh God in the scales of human intellect. He is "Laysa kamithlihi shay’un" (There is nothing whatever like unto Him). This is the station where all analogies and imaginings cease, and the intellect submits that His Being is pure and transcendent, beyond all conception and conjecture.
Conclusion: The Destination of Tawhid — The Commencement of Endurance (Baqaa)
The person who establishes these three chapters of Tawhid firmly in their faith and action is liberated from the bondage of the world.
Freedom from Shirk (Polytheism): They know that having bowed before the One Power, there is no need to fear any other power or worship any other entity.
Salvation from Anxiety: They understand that if the Master of Sustenance, Life, Death, and Power is only One, what is the need to worry about the struggles of the world?
Absolute Tranquility: They sever all hopes from creation and place their trust solely in the Creator. This is the stage where the "Sweetness of Faith" is attained.
Tawhid is the sole destination where the seeking of man ends, because once you have found Allah, The One, you have attained everything. This is the conclusion of the article, and the commencement of your true existence (Baqaa).
